Innovative Energy Consultants (IEC) recognises that its activities, including but not limited to, its routine internal and external operations may impact the environment. IEC acknowledges a responsibility for, and a commitment to, the protection of the environment. IEC therefore pledges to
meet or exceed all relevant legislated environmental standards and reporting requirements. As a company, IEC is committed to reducing its environmental impacts across all areas.
Eleanor Akers, Director, is responsible for ensuring that this Environmental Policy is implemented, however, all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of this policy are met.
We endeavour to:
• comply with all relevant regulatory requirements;
• continually improve and monitor environmental performance;
• continually improve and reduce environmental impacts; and
• increase employee awareness.
We will:
• only use paper and print documents where necessary; and
• when paper is required, it shall be sourced from well managed forests, for example FSC paper,
where practicable.
We will seek to
• use water and energy as efficiently as possible;
• use renewable energy where possible; and
• work with clients and suppliers to encourage efficient energy and water usage throughout the supply chain.
We will:
• source office supplies from environmentally friendly businesses where possible.
We will:
• encourage employees to travel by bike or public transportation where practicable; and
• we commit to evaluating all business travel from both an economic and environmental perspective.
We will:
• use non-toxic cleaning products; and
• avoid single use products and packaging.
We will:
• comply with all relevant regulatory requirements;
• continually improve and monitor environmental performance via a carbon footprint and accompanying analysis; and
• continually improve and reduce environmental impacts.
We will:
• update this policy at least once annually in consultation with staff and other stakeholders where necessary.
